Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed will always be my favorite

How could you not enjoy meddling kids and a dumb dog? The Scooby-doo franchise has always been a favorite of mine mostly because of a loveable dog and terrifying masked creatures. Even though personally I enjoy all of the movies and series, the movie Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed will always be my favorite.

This comedy horror adventure film was based on the animated television series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? Many years later in 2002 "Scooby Doo" a live action movie was produced, just this film alone made around $275 million, which helped get the next movie going. Scooby-Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed directed by Raja Gosnell was then made a couple years later. One of the best things about this movie is the cast and how the cast play their roles. We have the insensitive leader Fred Jones, (Freddie Prinze Jr.) during this movie he is in conflict with himself and a city news reporter Heather Jasper Howe (Alicia Silverstone) she tries to make Fred seem like a cruel hero. Next, we meet Daphne Blake (Sarah Michelle Gellar) she is also antagonized by the reporter, which makes Daphne question her importance to the gang and also her intelligence. Moving on to Velma Dinkley (Linda Cardellini) when she is asked out on a date she realizes that she is uncomfortable with herself and wants to impress the guy with more than just her brain. My favorite member, Shaggy Rogers (Matthew Lilard), throughout the film tries to prove to the gang that he is just as important as everyone else. Last, but not least, Scooby-Doo, a lovable Great Dane who always has everyone's back. All together the gang is called Mystery Inc.

To start the movie off, Mystery Inc. attends the opening of a new museum which includes all of the monsters the gang has unmasked in the past. A pterodactyl ghost comes to life and attacks everyone inside the museum. In the process of attacking, Shaggy and Scooby run away in fear, this leads to the escape of an evil masked figure and the pterodactyl who stole fake monster costumes. After the incident, the gang is questioned by a news reporter (Heather Jasper Howe). By doing this, the gangs reputation and confidence goes down the drain. To look for clues, Mystery Inc. goes back and looks at solved cases from the past, when evidence is found they go inspect the place. In the process of inspecting, we meet the Black Night Ghost whose main objective is to guard the house where the evidence is. The gang finds a monster hive; this is the location where the costumes are being taken to. Foolishly, Shaggy and Scooby play with a machine that creates monsters using the costumes which brings seven more monsters to life, luckily the gang grabs the control panel. During the rest of the movie, Mystery Inc. has to hide from the monsters, but still uncover the truth. Velma works on the control panel and finds a way to destroy the monsters. All they have to do is get it back to the location they originally took the control panel from. For one final fight its the gang against the monsters. Everyone gets caught except Scooby who ends up destroying all of the monsters and saves the day.

To sum everything up I enjoy this movie because of the cast, everyone plays their roles so nicely and everyone fits their parts. The movie also brings in more of the downside to everyone and shows their true feelings towards themselves and each other. Not only does the cast have diverse parts, but so do the monsters. Even though the monsters never really speak, you can see their personalities by the backgrounds and pasts of each on top of that the colors schemes and the facial expressions. I would recommend this movie for all ages because everyone is so different you will end up enjoying at least one character even if it is a villain
